This open patella, slip-on brace measures 12” (30cm) and features removable metal hinges with an extension stop at 0˚ to help protect knee from hyperextension. High quality neoprene retains natural body heat to help increase circulation and warmth. Superior and inferior straps for compression and support above and below the knee. Bilateral design. Available in S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X or 4X.

- Pull sleeve on to the knee higher to the groin area.
- Fit the opening for knee cap slightly higher on the knee cap. Approximately the upper half of the knee cap. The tendency is to wear the support too low. When fitted, brace will slide down into proper position.
- Upper part of support should be higher to groin area. (braces have tendency to slip down so fit higher)
- Hinged metal stays should start higher on the knee joint as support will seat into proper position during movement. (Tendency during fitting is to fit the hinge too low on the knee).
- Straps below the knee closest to the knee cap should be adjusted first. If brace is fitted correctly, the calf will hold the position of the brace as the strap just below the knee will be tightened with a smaller circumference than the calf.
- Strap above the knee should be adjusted last.
- Straps can be adjusted for proper tension on the patella.
- Make sure brace has been fitted with appropriate strap tightness and has not slid down leg too far.
- Upper part of the brace should not dig into groin area
- Align hinged metal stays equally on either side of knee.
- Add compression from straps starting with just below knee first and working bottom to top
- Decrease compression from top to bottom
Disengaging Velcro and securing tabs prior and after wearing will help with future fitting.
