Mettler Active Passive (APT) Trainers

Mettler Active Passive Trainers are used in long term care facilities, nursing homes, and inpatient and outpatient physical therapy deparments and clinics to start patients in early passive motion and progress the patient to active exercise, all with the same machine. Passive motion is used during phase 1 rehabilitation and early physical therapy to allow motion to relieve joint stiffness and improve range of motion. As the patients range of motin and strength improves, the patient can use the Mettler APT to acively exercise with isotonic exercise.

The trainer helps passive users who are recovering from injury, suffering from muscle atrophy, recovering from orthopedic surgery, or users who are confined to a wheelchair maintain muscle tone and improve blood circulation and stamina. The trainer also challenges active users and is extremely helpful for movement rehabilitation, improving strength, stamina and fitness.
